Following a detailed compliance review of the existing fall protection infrastructure at the Folio Building, the duty holder initiated a strategic upgrade to align with the Hierarchy of Risk. The objective was to enhance both the safety and operational efficiency of working at height on the building’s façade and roof areas.
The upgraded system comprises certified abseil anchor points, PFPE (Personal Fall Protection Equipment) points, and horizontal wire systems. This integrated solution delivers several key advantages for both the duty holder and end users:
Increased Access Capability: The new configuration supports multiple rope access operatives working simultaneously, improving maintenance turnaround times and façade coverage.
Certified Abseil Access: Abseil points have been installed and tested to relevant standards, allowing specialist contractors to perform high-level cleaning and inspection tasks safely and efficiently.
Dedicated PFPE Anchor Points: Strategically placed anchor points support safe use of lanyards and other fall protection PPE for tasks that do not require full rope access, ensuring flexibility in work methods.
Optimised Wire System Layout: The repositioned wire systems provide continuous protection along key access routes, overcoming limitations posed by fixed-length lanyards and reducing the need for complex manoeuvres or multiple connection points.
Compliance and Assurance: All installed systems meet the latest regulatory requirements and standards, ensuring both legal compliance and peace of mind for stakeholders.
